Assignments
Alchemy: An Ancient Beginning is a one-term class with monthly lessons. Homework and extra credit will accompany these lessons. There are no exams, but more than likely, there will be a final project. To pass the class, you MUST earn a total of 150 points out of a total 300 allotted to the class for the term (that's an equivalent to getting all your homework assignments right).
The homework will probably follow a similar format seen in a number of other classes. The extra credit will be a bit more creative and will most likely make you think (oh, joy!). You will have a number of options for both extra credit and homework, so it won't be specifically geared toward just writing or just art.
All assignments should be sent to [email protected]. If there are any questions, you can contact either me (Prof. Cassandra Lobiesk) or my assistant () via HOL message, or you can always send them to the class email.
Late Assignments
All assignments will usually be due at the end of each month, so plan accordingly. If you know you’ll be submitting homework late, just let me know. RL can be busy, but I’m sure a short little email letting me know what’s up will do the trick. If you ask for an extension, you have until the end of the term to hand in your work. There are no extensions for the final due date.
Quills and Grading
One quill will be awarded for the entire course. The quill will be given at the end of the term once students finish 150 points’ worth of assignments (this includes extra credit).
Awards will be given to the top earners for each house as well as through my discretion.
As a reminder, Alchemy: An Ancient Beginning is an HOL-affiliated class, and thus all HOL Rules apply. Please respect your fellow colleagues as well as the assistant and me. All announcements will go up in the class discussion board and/or sent to you via HOL message. New lessons are scheduled to be updated at the first of each month, but please keep in mind that things happen and that I am a busybee RL-wise as well, so if you’re wondering where the next lesson is, chances are I just don’t have time at the moment to update and will do so as soon as I can breathe. *nods*
Awards
Alchemical Brewer - For those who have earned 300 points without the use of the bonus.
Symbologist - For those who have gone above and beyond to impress with their best.
